Pilot Medical Update: Rehab Update

The Sydney Roosters rehabilitation group has been assessed following the Club’s first bye in Round 14.

Egan Butcher has successfully undergone ACL surgery, and following a review with the surgeon, is expected to commence with an uncomplicated rehabilitation, with an approximate return to the field in April, 2025.

Billy Smith has recommenced early running following significant damage to joint cartilage in his ankle. There is no set timeframe for this specific injury, as the
rehabilitation will be concentrated on healing and function.

Following non-surgical rehabilitation, Lewis Murphy will have a plaster removed following a scaphoid fracture before going into a splint. He will resume full-time training, with an aim to return to the field in the coming weeks.

Robert Toia has progressed well with his ACL rehabilitation, prior to reaching nine months post-surgery. The Club is taking a cautious approach to his return to play, undergoing modified training, with a chance to take the field before the conclusion of the 2024 season.

Salesi Foketi has made a successful rehabilitation following nine weeks post-MCL reconstruction, and has been named to return in the NSW Cup side for this weekend's match against Parramatta

Ethan Roberts is in the mid-stage of return from syndesmosis, having commenced running, and will recommence full training next week.

There are no other injury concerns for the other players in the NRL squad.
