Trent Robinson has named his squad for Friday night's Preliminary Final against the Dolphins at Suncorp Stadium.

Sam Walker has been named to make his return from an ankle injury, with the playmaker set to line up at halfback alongside Daly Cherry-Evans at five-eighth. Hugo Savala moves to the interchange bench following his recent appearances in the halves.

Captain James Tedesco leads the side from fullback, with Daniel Tupou and Mark Nawaqanitawase named on the wings. Billy Smith and Robert Toia retain their positions in the centres to complete the backline.

In the forwards, Naufahu Whyte and Lindsay Collins start in the front row, with Reece Robson named at hooker. Salesi Foketi and Siua Wong take their places in the second row, while Victor Radley rounds out the starting side at lock.

Connor Watson, Angus Crichton, Nat Butcher and Spencer Leniu have been named on the interchange bench, with Savala and Cody Ramsey completing the six-man bench.

Egan Butcher, Tommy Talau and Benaiah Ioelu round out the extended squad.

The Roosters will face the Dolphins at Suncorp Stadium on Friday, September 25, with kick-off scheduled for 7:50pm AEST and a place in the NRL Grand Final on the line.
