Sydney Roosters captain Anthony Minichiello will next Thursday break the record for most appearances by a Roosters player with eight, in the traditional Anzac Day encounter, when he leads his team out to take on the Dragons at Allianz Stadium.

Minichiello says he is proud of the record which was previously held by Braith Anasta and Craig Fitzgibbon and he would be happy to celebrate it with a win.

"It's always a massive clash on Anzac Day and I can't way to soak in the atmosphere and really enjoy the day, especially seeing as it is my first time leading the boys out on the big day," he said.

"It is a privilege to have played in this many Anzac Day games and I can assure you it never gets old."

"The excitement and passion around the stadium for this fixture is something that sticks with the boys and I am sure this year will be no different."

"Hopefully we can get all the Roosters fans out to the match and really get behind us as we aim to really make the most of our good start to the season."

The Sydney Roosters and St George Illawarra Dragons will join together with the Rugby League community to honour our service men and women in the traditional ANZAC Day clash against at Allianz Stadium on April 25, 2013.

Always a spirited encounter, both sides head in to this clash on the back of some good form, keen to cement a place at the top half of the ladder.

After a tough start to the season, the Dragons are aiming to make it 4 wins in a row while the Tricolours are coming off a massive victory over the Bulldogs where they held a team to zero for the third time in 2013.

The annual tradition sees the teams joining their supporters in paying tribute to former and current Australian and New Zealand service men and women. Match day activities will honour the ANZAC spirit and remember all those who have served their nation. Featuring the Royal Australian Army Band, a moment's silence, the ode reading, and the last post, the traditional ceremony is a truly touching tribute to our ANZACs.

The match-up is the most well-regarded tradition on the NRL Premiership calendar and is a special event for all rugby league fans.

Be there and experience the electric atmosphere as we honour the ANZACs in this epic encounter.

It's more than a game, it's a tradition.
