"I just love the build up, it's so special."

"It was definitely my favourite game and something I will always remember."

"Standing there in front of a massive crowd I would always look forward to the last post and the whole emotion behind the day, it's something I will never forget."

The only thing more intense than the words, is the passion with which former Rooster, Ryan Cross delivers them, when reflecting on the match which has been a highlight on there NRL calendar, since 2002.

Unfortunately for the Tricolours, the Dragons have dominated the fixture, taking out the last five encounters, but despite the importance of the on field action, there is a lot more to this day than just the football.

"There is always a huge crowd there to honour those who have served for our country and there is no better feeling than playing in this clash," Cross said.

"My Grandfather fought for this country so I would always stand out in the middle of the field during the last post and look back on what he did for us."

Looking back on his time, Cross has fond memories of taking on one of the best in the game.

"I always enjoyed playing against the Dragons, they were a really tough side and I got to challenge myself every time against Gaz out in the centres."

Both sides are in good form ahead of tomorrow's clash with head Coach Trent Robinson well aware of the Dragons strengths.

"They are a good controlled team and have a strong defence and they have done for a number of years now," he said.

"They have a number of high quality players that we need to make sure we are looking out for."

There is plenty on the line tomorrow afternoon as the Tricolours look to cement a place in the top 4 and Cross is confident the Red, White and Blues will get the job done.

"We definitely owe the Dragons one," he said.

"The boys will definitely remember what happened last year and I'm sure if they continue to play the way they have they are a good chance of getting the two points."
