The Sydney Roosters Holden Cup side have labored their way to a tough 34-6 victory over Manly.


A superb opening half sealed the result for the young Tricolours as they kept their opposition scoreless in the opening stanza while laying on eighteen points of their own.


It was a battle of the forwards all night as both sides ripped in to each other from the get go.


Jokitama Dokonivalu got the Tricolours of to a perfect start when he used brut strength to crash over the line early on.


After failing to capitalise on a string of further opportunities the home side finally crossed again when a clever dummy from braeden Batiste fooled the visitors to make it 12-0.


Willis Meehan latched on to the end of a fluent backline movement just before the break to send the visitors in to the break leading by three converted tries.


Manly came out firing in the second half and finally got on the score sheet when Dylan Kelly found a massive gap to stroll over.


A flurry of late tries including w tough effort from Jack Siejka with only ten minutes left to play sealed the result for the Tricolours.
