Roosters Under 20s backrower Jakiel Mariner has today been named in the NSW Under 20s side to face the Queensland Maroons Under 20s in the annual clash this Saturday night  (3 May) at Sportingbet Stadium, Penrith.

In his State debut at Under 20s level, Mariner will face-off with Roosters Holden Cup team mates Nene Macdonald and Brendan Elliot who were earlier today named in Kevin Walters Junior Maroons side.

The match will serve as a curtain-raiser to Saturday's International between Samoa and Fiji, featuring fellow Roosters duo Isaac Liu and Kane Evans.

A young man of many talents, Mariner is also a member of pop group Fortunate, who appeared in the 2012 X Factor series.
