State of Origin festivities will begin with two massive pre-game parties at ANZ Stadium tomorrow night.
Dedicated Blues supporters will take over Cathy Freeman Park outside the Stadium from 4:00pm with a party featuring live music and the chance to meet NSW Blues legends.
The Queensland supporters’ pre-game party will be held at Allphones Arena right next to ANZ Stadium.
Stadium gates will open at 5:45pm with the U18 NSW v QLD Origin teams playing the curtain raiser.
A tribute to the 1985 Origin series – when Steve Mortimer captained the Blues to their first ever series win over Queensland at the SCG - will be a highlight of the pre-match action before the 8pm kick–off.
“This is an event where the footy really speaks for itself,” NRL Head of Commercial Mr Paul Kind said.
“The venue will be at capacity, the NSW bay will host more than 17,000 true blue supporters and we expect the walk down memory lane with the 1985 side to create an electric atmosphere.”
All tickets to Holden State of Origin II at ANZ Stadium include entry and return travel on Sydney Trains services, Sydney Olympic Park Major Event Buses and regular Sydney Buses (STA) services and Sydney Ferries services.
Fans are strongly encouraged to leave the car at home and take advantage of the direct transport services in operation.
Fans are reminded to keep their tickets for their return journey, as customers must have a valid ticket when travelling on public transport.
Key transport information
Direct train services will run from:
• Central to Sydney Olympic Park loop service - every 15 minutes from 5.10pm – 6.10pm and then every 8 minutes until 9.30 pm. There will be return trains every five minutes until midnight, stopping at Redfern and Strathfield.
• Lidcombe to Sydney Olympic Park loop service – every 10 minutes until midnight.
• Blacktown to Sydney Olympic Park loop service - every 8 minutes from 9.30pm to midnight.
Fans travelling from other locations or outside of these times should travel to Lidcombe Station and change for a connecting service to Olympic Park Station, operating every 10 minutes.
Extra services are also running after the match:
Sydney Olympic Park Major Event Bus services are operating on all eleven major event bus routes across Sydney. Services will commence between approximately 4.00pm and 5.00pm, depending on the route.
Bus services will depart Olympic Park after the game, with the last service departing at 10.30pm.
Sydney Ferries services are running to a regular weekday timetable.
With the Stadium expected to be at capacity for this much anticipated event, fans who have not pre-booked parking are encouraged to leave the car at home and take advantage of the extra public transport services.
For those who plan to drive, pre-booking your parking space is highly recommended, particularly for this event due to the traffic expected in the precinct.
