The official and latest update direct from the Medical Rooms here at Roosters HQ on injured Vice-Captain Jake Friend.

Following the conclusion of the 2014 NRL season, Friend was discovered to have suffered a tear in his right shoulder in the Club's Preliminary Final loss to the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

Initial diagnosis saw the dummy-half scheduled to undergo a full shoulder reconstruction after scans revealed the tear and following consultation with Roosters Medical Staff.

An expected return to full training was set for February 2015, however an infection suffered by Friend has deferred surgery from the original date.

Friend is currently progressing well and being monitored on a weekly basis by Medical Staff in a bid to clear the infection before surgery can take place.

It is anticipated that Friend will return to training prior to the conclusion of Pre-Season 2015.

Updates on his injury will be provided as they come to hand.
