Ahead of the big clash with the Brisbane Broncos tonight, Captain Jake Friend gave his final thoughts on the game.

Knowing all too well that tonight is a big game, Friend was adamant that the Roosters can’t let the occasion get to them.

“It’s going to be a packed crowd, and no doubt most of them will be Broncos supporters,” he said.

“We’ve got to not let that in, we’ve been in this position before and it’s important we don’t focus too much on the occasion and just play our style of footy,” he added.

He also noted that the return of fellow Captain Mitchell Pearce was welcomed.

“We’ve missed Pearcey.

“He’s an important piece to the team, and he’s been itching to get back out there with the boys.”

Though Friend has been in this position more than once before, Captaining the team in his hometown in a Preliminary Final is new and exciting.

“It is exciting, and it will be something I look back on with pride, but it won’t mean anything if we don’t come out and put in a big performance against the Broncos.

“It’s going to be tough, but we’re not ready for it to be over just yet.”
