After an intense pre-season for the young fullback, Latrell Mitchell was given an opportunity to play first grade for the Roosters in 2016.

He was selected to play in the 2016 Auckland Nines at the start of the season, and scored the opening try for the Roosters in all three of the matches he played in.

The next test for Mitchell was the World Club Challenge, being given his second big opportunity ahead of the season and impressing plenty of Roosters fans in the process.

It was little surprise that he was named to line-up on the wing for the Roosters in Round 1 against the South-Sydney Rabbitohs, and would go on to play every game for the Club over the 2016 season.

Though he started and finished the season on the wing, he played most of the year at his preferred position of fullback and gave fans of the game plenty to be excited about.

Still young and with plenty of room to grow into his role, Latrell Mitchell looks set to become a future superstar of the game.

2016 STATS
