To kick off their title defence in 2017, the young Roosters put on a solid performance to down the Titans on their home turf.

The Roosters would open the scoring through Victor Radley after he was the recipient of a clever offload from Joseph Ratuvakacereivalu that saw him sprint beneath the black dot from halfway.

The Titans would do well to hit back though, after halfback AJ Brimson barged his way over just wide of the posts in prop-like fashion.

In the spirit of a real back-and-forth affair, it was only fair that the Roosters were the next to score and would do so through Radley.

The impressive young lock skipped, stepped and barged his way over the line to put his side up by a converted try.

Adam Pompey was on the end of a nice pass from Radley that would see him go over on the right edge to cap off a solid first half for the young Roosters.

A penalty right on the siren would see the Roosters snatch a late penalty goal to make it 20-6 at the break.

The Titans would open the scoring in the second half, but Victor Radley would strike straight back to claim his hat-trick and give the Roosters a handy lead.

Sitili Tupouniua would follow suit soon after and the Roosters were running hot to kick off their title defence on the road.

As the Titans answered back with a late try, the Roosters continued their dominance by scoring straight back after Lachlan Lam got a nice inside ball to make it a 20-point game.

The Titans would go in again right on the siren, but it would arrive a little too late.
