In Memoriam | Bruce 'Digger' Edwards

The Sydney Roosters have been deeply saddened to hear of the recent passing of former player, Bruce Edwards.

Player number 369, Bruce played 34 top grade games for Easts across five seasons between 1950-1955.

A tough and aggressive front rower, Bruce scored his first try in the top grade at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Easts' match against Newtown on 22 April, 1950.

Bruce was also a member of Easts' 1949 reserve grade Premiership-winning team.

Bruce is survived by wife Gwen, sons Greg and Garry, their wives Anne and Annie, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The Sydney Roosters extend their heartfelt sympathies to the family and friends of Bruce Edwards at this sad time.
