Roosters Launch Season in Style at SCG

The Sydney Roosters launched season 2021 in style at the Sydney Cricket Ground last Friday afternoon, with a number of the NRL squad, staff members, sponsors and guests on hand to celebrate the kick-off to the Club's 114th season.

The picturesque SCG, which will host the side's opening round clash in Round 1 was the location for the Club's Season Launch, which saw Roosters Corporate Partners and Ultimate Club Members join the Board of Directors, Coaches and Playing Staff to discuss the upcoming season.

Hosted by Tim Gilbert, guests took in the history of the hallowed SCG change rooms, and were treated to lunch at the front bar in the Members' Stand on an afternoon which featured plenty of mingling and camaraderie for those in Red, White and Blue.

Kerri Maher, SCGT CEO, gave a welcomed update on the new Sydney Football Stadium's progress, emphasising the unique relationship with the Sydney Roosters.

Senior players Jake Friend, Luke Keary and James Tedesco also spoke, highlighting their desire to return to the hallowed ground in front of the Roosters Club Members and supporters, while Craig Fitzgibbon was once again acknowledged on his crowning achievement of becoming a Sydney Roosters Life Member.

It was great to have our proud Corporate Partners and Ultimate Members to have an experience that they wouldn't have had before at such a historic venue.

Head Coach Trent Robinson was also a speaker, sharing his memories at the ground, the history of the Roosters greats who occupied the change rooms, and spoke on the meaning of being a True Rooster.

For Sydney Roosters Chief Operating Officer Jarrod Johnstone, the event was a success, particularly considering the change of venue with developments of the Easts League Club at Bondi Junction taking place.

"It was great to have our proud Corporate Partners and Ultimate Members to have an experience that they wouldn't have had before at such a historic venue," Mr Johnstone said.

"The Roosters' iconic sides from 1974 and 1975 made history here, and the history of the venue is something special.

"Our corporate partners had the opportunity to come into the dress rooms, which were set up as if it were match day when Trent (Robinson) addresses the team. They had the chance to be where many iconic players have been - not just Rugby League greats but icons like Steve Smith and Dave Warner who are proud Roosters supporter too.

"It was a relaxed environment alongside the playing squad and coaching staff. There there was a great opportunity to hear from our board members, such as Mark Bouris, and to hear an update on our new stadium from Kerri Maher was very insightful.

"Our sponsors were also able to pay their respects to Craig Fitzgibbon who was awarded Life Membership, as well as hear from Trent and the players for the season ahead.

"We were very pleased to have the Season Launch at our home ground and venue."
