Juniors Report Round 6 | How the Young Roosters Fared This Week

Round 6 matches in the Junior Reps were completed last week, with both Harold Matthews sides and the SG Ball Roosters taking the field.

The Tarsha Gale side enjoyed a bye last weekend, while the Andrew Johns Cup and Laurie Daley Cup sides competed in their final catch up games following multiple washouts throughout the season.

Roosters Defeat Tigers in High-Scoring Contest

The Sydney Roosters proved too good for the Balmain Tigers, piling on seven tries in their 38-22 win.

In a see-sawing opening half that saw the ascendancy change hands on multiple occasions, the Roosters stabilised to take an 18-12 lead into the sheds.

The Roosters then placed their foot firmly on the accelerator, blitzing their opponents with three tries in ten minutes to take firm control of the game after the change of ends.

Now sitting third on the ladder, the Roosters will next face North Sydney as the season begins to reach its climax.

Raiders Overcome Spirited Central Coast Roosters

The news wasn't as good for the Central Coast Roosters, who were downed 36-18 by Canberra despite a valiant performance in the Harold Matthews Cup.

Travelling to the regional town of Greenway, the Roosters fought for every inch but were ultimately downed by the powerful Raiders outfit.

Not to be deterred by the result, the Roosters will now turn their attention to their clash with Manly on Saturday afternoon.

Roosters Edge Tigers to Go Top of SG Ball

The Sydney Roosters tightened their grip on the top of the SG Ball table with a tight win over the Tigers at Leichhardt Oval.

All the game's points were scored in the opening half of the contest before the heavens opened, resulting in a second half arm wrestle dominated by the opposing forward packs.

The win sees the Roosters go two points clear at the top of the table, despite having played less games than the second placed Knights.

The Roosters will next face North Sydney on Sunday at 4:30pm.

Central Coast Downed by Dogs

The Central Coast Roosters have been handed their first loss of the Laurie Daly Cup campaign, going down 36-14 to the North Coast Bulldogs.

Billed as a true top of the table clash, the finals-bound Roosters started slowly before mounting a threatening fightback in the second half.

A double to centre Noah Goodman had the Roosters back in the contest, however it just wasn't to be as the Bulldogs secured the win with a late four pointer.

Roosters Held by North Coast in Nail-Biting Contest

The Central Coast Roosters have been held to a 16-all draw by the North Coast Bulldogs in the final round of the Andrew Johns Cup.

The Roosters got off to a flying start, taking a 12-4 lead to the break in Wauchope, west of Port Macquarie.

The Roosters clung onto their lead for most of the second stanza, before a late try from the Bulldogs saw them draw level in the shadows of full time.
