Roosters Jersey Flegg Cup team post third win of the season.

NSW Cup

The Sydney Roosters NSW Cup team had a bye over the weekend.

The Roosters next play on Sunday, 4th May against the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs at Wentworth Park.

Jersey Flegg Cup (Men’s Under 21s)

The Sydney Roosters Jersey Flegg Cup team have won their third match of the season with a 32-10 victory over the Kaiviti Siktails at Homebush.

The Roosters welcomed back five eighth John Durkin, from NSW Cup duty, and with the NSW Cup team having a bye this weekend the Flegg Cup was also able to utilise the services of NRL squad hooker Beniah Ioelu, for his second match back from injury.

In a very scrappy game, the Roosters scored six tries to two and always had control of the match, even though they made numerous handling errors. Winger Kade Maguire got his eighth try of the year (through eight games) with right winger Tyreece Tait, centres Baxter Warner (on debut) and Will Molloy, five eighth Durkin and second rower James Khoo scoring the others.

Up front, props Julius Mitchell and Fanafou Seve kept up their good form whilst fullback Kallum Weatherall-Stacey pulled off some key plays for the winners. Tyreece Tait was sent to the sin bin late in the game for a shoulder charge and was placed on report.

The Roosters next play on Sunday, 4th May against the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs at Wentworth Park.

NSW Women’s Premiership

Competition commences on Sunday, 6th July

Ron Massey Cup

Glebe’s Ron Massey Cup team have suffered their third loss of the season with a narrow 24-20 loss to Mounties at Hinchinbrook.

Glebe’s team included Roosters NSW Cup squad members Emery Jolliffe, Vito Tevaga, Turoa Williams, Josh Finau and Lafi Tuinauvai.

Mounties scored their first try in the third minute and held the lead throughout and despite moments in the game where it seemed Glebe could wear Mounties down it was not to be the Dirty Reds’ Day.

Glebe has the bye next weekend and the defending premiers go to the break with a three win – three loss record.

Sydney Shield

Glebe’s Sydney Shield Cup team have won its third match of the 2025 season with a 16-14 victory over Mounties at Hinchinbrook.

Glebe’s team included Roosters Jersey Flegg Cup squad members Druzel Taula, who scored two of the Dirty Reds’ tries, and Joseph Currie. Scores were locked up at 14-14 into the last 15 minutes of the game but a Taula penalty goal in the 66th minute was enough for Glebe to claim a second successive win.

Glebe has the bye next weekend and goes into the break with a three win – three loss record.
