The Sydney Roosters NSW Cup team had a bye this weekend. They’ll next play the 9th placed Western Suburbs Magpies at Lidcombe Oval on Saturday, 28th June.
Jersey Flegg Cup (Men’s Under 21s)
The Sydney Roosters Jersey Flegg Cup team have posted back-to-back wins for the first time this season with a 28-22 victory over the Kaiviti Silktails in Fiji.
The Roosters, who led 16-10 at half time, were never headed after scoring their first try in just the third minute of the game. The Roosters ran in five tries to four, with the competition’s leading try scorer, left winger Kade Maguire, crossing for three tries and taking his season tally to 17 tries from 15 games.
Once again, the Roosters fielded a number of S.G. Ball Cup players and as they continue to find their feet at this level the team will only keep improving. Three of the 17 that played in Fiji turn 18 this year and another four turn 19.
Next Saturday the Roosters take on 7th placed Wests Tigers at Lidcombe Oval.

Ron Massey Cup
The Glebe Ron Massey Cup team have posted 40 or more points in a match for the fourth time this season as they thumped the 5th placed Wentworthville Magpies 50-24 in their Round 12 clash at Wentworthville.
The Dirty Reds used two Roosters NSW Cup squad members in their team on Sunday (right winger Emery Jolliffe and lock Josh Finau). However, it was one of Glebe’s own in left winger Sione Manakofua that starred on the day, crossing for four tries and taking his season tally to six from just three games. Glebe crossed for ten tries in total after leading 24-12 at half time and brought up back-to-back wins with Sunday’s victory. Glebe has the bye next weekend.
Sydney Shield
The Glebe Sydney Shield team have continued their recent stellar form, defeating competition leaders Wentworthville 26-12 in their Round 12 clash at Wentworthville. It was Glebe’s fourth win in succession and whilst they remain in sixth place on the ladder, they are now just two competition points behind second placed Manly Leagues.
Five Roosters Jersey Flegg Cup squad members played for Glebe and each made a major contribution; right winger Druzel Taula (who scored Glebe’s third try), left centre James Khoo, hooker Jacob Tinsley and the two Frenchmen, five eighth Jonti Morshead-Deildel and interchange utility Enzo Griffier (who scored Gleb’s fourth try.
Glebe has the bye next week.
