In a massive boost ahead of tonight’s home game, the Sydney Roosters are pleased to announce that New Zealand Test prop Sam Moa has agreed to a two-year extension to remain with the Roosters until the end of the 2016 season.

“I’ve been a part of a few different clubs but feel like I’ve really found a home here at the Roosters. I’ve worked hard to get to where I am and am so glad to be part of such a well-run organisation from the top down,” said Moa.

“Despite interest from other clubs, I always wanted to stay a Rooster and am so happy that I’m able to. I look forward to continuing to work hard with my teammates to maintain and build on the standards we pride ourselves on,” he added.

Roosters Head Coach Trent Robinson was pleased to have Moa locked in to the club’s long-term plans.

“Sam has been a significant contributor to our team on and off the field and is highly thought of by everyone involved with the club. His commitment to what we have set out to build here is second to none and in a short period of time, he’s established himself as a true leader.

“He has been a stand-out player for us so far this year and to ensure we have him here for a further two years is great news for the Roosters,” said Robinson.

27-year-old Moa has played 32 NRL games to date and represented New Zealand in last year’s World Cup and in the recent Trans Tasman Test.
