Juniors Report Round 4: Catch Up Results

Round 4 matches in the Junior Reps were completed last week having previously been postponed due to washouts, with both Harold Matthews sides and the SG Ball Roosters taking the field.

The Tarsha Gale side had a well-earned rest last weekend, while the Andrew Johns Cup and Laurie Daley Cup sides finals series has been postponed due to the flooding situation in northern NSW.

Harold Matthews Roosters Go Down in Close Thriller

The Sydney Roosters were pipped 30-26 in a thrilling match against the Western Suburbs Magpies on Saturday afternoon.

A high-scoring match that saw ten tries scored across 60 minutes, it was tit-for-tat early on as both teams bagged a brace of tries in the opening 20 minutes, with Wests scoring just before the break to lead 16-14 in a close first half.

The Tricolours regained the lead with two quick-fire tries, but the final ten minutes saw their opponents ross three times to seal the result. 

The Sydney Roosters Harold Matthews side take on the Balmain Tigers at Leichhardt Oval on Friday night at 6:00pm.

Sharks Overwhelm Central Coast Roosters

It was a tough afternoon for the Central Coast Roosters in the Harold Matthews Cup, defeated by the top-of-the-table Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks.

Cronulla burst out of the blocks from the outset, scoring in the second and eighth minute to propel them to a 20-nil lead at the break.

Not to be deterred, the Red, White and Blue fought courageously throughout the match, however they were unable to overcome their opponents at fulltime. 

The Central Coast Roosters turn their attention to the Canberra Raiders at 2:00pm this Sunday afternoon at Greenway Oval in Cherrybrook.

Roosters Claim Big SG Ball Scalp Over Wests

The Sydney Roosters SG Ball side have claimed an emphatic 40-6 win over the Western Suburbs Magpies at Kirkham Oval in Camden on Saturday afternoon.

Running in eight tries to one in a stellar performance, the Tricolours scored three tries in the first fifteen minutes taking a 14-6 lead as they headed to the sheds. 

The second half proved to be even more fruitful for the young Roosters as they piled on five more four-pointers, with Kyron Fekitoa and Siaosi Kaliti both bagging doubles. 

The Sydney Roosters will face the Balmain Tigers on Friday night alongside the Harold Matthews side at Leichhardt Oval, kicking off at 7:30pm.
