NRLW Grand Final Trio Re-Commit to Roosters

The Sydney Roosters are thrilled to announce its first NRLW signings for season 2022 with grand final heroes Sarah Togatuki, Jessica Sergis and Isabelle Kelly re-signing with the Club.

24-year-old Togatuki became the first Roosters player to win the prestigious Karyn Murphy Medal after a player of the match performance in the 2021 Grand Final.

The 2021 Premiership was just a stepping-stone. There’s so much that I want to give back to a proud Club with such a rich history.

In a barnstorming performance, Togatuki played a crucial role in the Roosters’ 16-4 Grand Final win, setting the tone in the middle with over 160 running metres and a line break to her name.

“I feel so blessed for the opportunity to have my place in the Roosters squad for 2022,” said Togatuki.

“This Club has helped me so much to help make my dreams come true since I arrived in 2018, and I want to give back to them.

“The 2021 Premiership was just a stepping-stone. There’s so much that I want to give back to a proud Club with such a rich history,” she added.

Jillaroos and NSW representative players Jessica Sergis and Isabelle Kelly were also excited to extend their time with the Club.

“I’m so proud to be a Rooster,” said 24-year-old Sergis, a former recipient of the Golden Boot, Dally M Medal and RLPA Player of the Year.

“The Roosters are such a great Club, they go above and beyond for their players, and we’re all committed to keep adding to the Club’s rich history,” she added.

Kelly was named the Sydney Roosters NRLW 2021 KARI Foundation Player of the Year, and scored a pivotal try in the 2021 NRLW Grand Final, added: “I’m at home at the Roosters, and the desire is greater than ever to keep building on what we achieved last season.”

25-year-old Kelly is also a former recipient of the Golden Boot and became the first NRLW player to surpass 2000 metres.
