Laurie Daley Cup (Men’s Under 18s)

The Central Coast Roosters Laurie Daley Cup team have run in ten tries to two in a 58-12 thumping of the Western Rams in their Round One clash in Queanbeyan. The Roosters were particularly dominant through their left side attack with left winger Marshall Michie and left centre Semi Leweniqila both scoring tries in each half. Five eighth Kai Hodges, who crossed for his own try in the second half had a hand in a number of the Roosters tries whilst right winger Koby Houghton had a personal tally of 22 points with one try (an 85m intercept) and 9 goals from 10 attempts.

The Roosters led 28-0 at half time and all indications are that the team are in for a big season based on that Round One performance.

The Roosters are at home next Saturday against another Round One winner; the Northern Tigers. The match is one of six Roosters junior rep games at Woy Woy Oval on the day, with the Laurie Daley Cup, the second clash, kicking off at 11.20 am.
